Artistic Saturdays.
What? That's not a thing?
Too bad, it is now.
Because I have no other reasonable purpose for grouping the particular brand of excitement I possess this morning.
First order of business.
THERE ARE ALREADY 4 NEW RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS B SIDES OUT.
I don't even know what to do with this much ecstaticness.
It's got me making up words (see ecstaticness).
Personally, I think they are MILES away from the original I'm With You songs.
Way more creative and well developed. I've been so obsessed with Long Progression!
I apologize If you read this and do not care for the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
My rant is almost over.
Well, it's not a rant if I'm not angry...
Can I coin a new term for a 'happy rant'?
A hant? A rappy?
....I'll work on it.
Ok I PROMISE this is the last thing that has to do with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, or music even!
John Frusciante was the best guitarist RHCP ever had, and I love his solo music too, just not his new electronic stuff.
But this song,
is
insane.
Its weird...but so good...
Central by John Frusciante! ->> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9jsRZzjrgI
You might not like it, but you can't deny how unbelievably talented he is.
OK SO MY SECOND SOURCE OF EXCITEMENT RIGHT NOW.
I'm taking an art class this year.
I'm so excited.
I haven had an actual art class in years.
My first project is a sketch of a head shot of Anthony Kiedis (shocker).
But this got me thinking of my favorite artists, favorite pieces.
Keith Haring is one of my favorites
I just love EVERYTHING he did.
Wasn't always the most complex, but it always had character and a purpose.
I also love Andy Warhol.
He was so...weird.
I love weird.
I love the sixties.
Here's a weird guy.
Erwin Wurm.
He does these things called one minute sculptures, with people.
They sit in interesting situations for a minute, and then walk away.
Then the sculpture is gone forever.
This video might give you a better idea..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfOdWSiyWoc
Another artist I love is Andrew Wyeth.
His art is really haunting, which I think is cool.
And to wrap up today, my favorite painting, since I was little.
Bridge Over A Pond Of Water Lilies, by Claude Monet.
It's the kind of place that you wish you could go to.
ACTUALLY, I've been there.
sort of.
New Jersey has a beautiful sculpture garden called Grounds For Sculpture.
Its one of my favorite places EVER.
They recreate TONS of famous paintings
AS SCULPTURES.
Including Monet's bridge.
That's all I have for you today.
Keep it classy.
Aesthetically Yours,
Cassidy
