Please Allow Me to Introduce Myself...

Hi everyone! My name is Cassidy Magee, and I'm seventeen years old. I figured I'd use my first post to tell you about myself, but if you'd like to read an actual writing of mine, check out my guest post on my cousin Samantha's blog:  http://jasovskybaby.blogspot.com/2012/05/standing-in-line-to-see-show-tonight.html

I live at the Jersey shore, but before you go thinking I'm some "guidette', you should know that locals here are NOTHING like those Long Island Italians on TV! People at the shore are just laid back and enjoy the moment, especially in the summer when every day is spent at the beach. We call tourists "Bennys". That stands for people who come from Bayonne, Elisabeth, Newark, and New York. Bennys are more likely to be "guidos"!

Being seventeen, there's no doubt I was born in the wrong decade. Music is my favorite thing in the world. I love Classic Rock, hippies, and pretty much everything from decades before me. I was named after the song Cassidy, by The Grateful Dead, so none of this really comes as a shock. I'm the most right-brained, creative person you can imagine. I love all kinds of art, and I try to express my thoughts artistically whenever I can. I sketch alot of musicans, and paint often. I play guitar, and I am going into my fourth year of Improv classes. I have a really open mind and try to approach everything creatively. I love to write, so I hope you enjoy my sense of humor and my outlook on life.

Aesthetically yours,

  1. I love it! I love that you put all of your drawings up, looks good.

  2. Hey! So fun that I just stumbled upon your first post. I think you will like blogging - it is addicting!

    1. I hope so!! Just trying to get some followers first!

  3. Hey Cassidy! I stopped over from Samantha's blog and I'm a new follower! I loved your post on her blog and can't wait to read more! :)

  4. Thank you so much! I hope to post more tomorrow!

  5. Have you ever read "On The Road"? That Grateful Dead song was written in honor of one of it's characters, Dean Moriarty, whose real name was Neil Cassady. He was an influence to everyone of that generation and even today many youths are influenced by him, including myself.
Allen Ginsberg described him like this:

"who went out whoring through Colorado in myriad
stolen night-cars, N.C., secret hero of these
poems, cocksman and Adonis of Denver-joy
to the memory of his innumerable lays of girls
in empty lots & diner backyards, moviehouses'
rickety rows, on mountaintops in caves or with
gaunt waitresses in familiar roadside lonely pet-
ticoat upliftings & especially secret gas-station
solipsisms of johns, & hometown alleys too"
    From the Poem "Howl".

    1. No i never read it but i have heard of that character, I had no idea it was about him
